Quality Youth Development Consulting (QYDC) is a place for youth workers and supervisors in afterschool programs to share and exchange resources, ideas and strategies, and to learn more about bringing the most impactful and engaging activities possible to your kids every day.

We offer online and in-class training and consulting for afterschool programs, community-based youth programs, mentoring, and camps, on topics including trauma-informed practice, building engaging activities that enhance social-emotional learning, applications of current findings in neuroscience, and supervision and leadership. In addition to afterschool-focused learning, QYDC also provides customized training and consultation for mentors, community-based youth program staff, Americorps staff working with youth, and camps.

QYDC works closely with other partners working to advance support and resources for quality afterschool and other youth programs such as the Wisconsin Afterschool Network, the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the Milwaukee Public Schools Recreation Department, the Youth Work Learning Center at UW-Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Association of Child and Youth Care Professionals, the Association for Child and Youth Care Practice, and the Wisconsin Afterschool Association.
